I eat here pretty often in the summer. The Goodie Shack is a seasonal restaurant that serves summer favorites. The prices are fair and the food is pretty good. Great food, great service. Several visits under my belt I can say food has been great every visit. One thing I forgot to mention is the people you meet while eating or waiting for food are so fun to talk to. You might talk with locals or people from far off just in town for a getaway at the lake.

This little seasonal diner is the best! Has great food & atmosphere. We have been going here since we were little kids. Try the mini burgers, hamburger steak and Cajun fries and coleslaw (some of the best I've ever had). Don't leave without ice cream, they hook it up! The service is great too, they bring your food to you, don't forget to tip they open in spring and close at the end of September I believe. Great little spot to eat when visiting lake cumberland without having to go into town. It has covered outdoor seating (picnic tables) and indoor seating.

The Goodie Shack in Burnside is a great local spot. The food is consistently good, portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. We've traveled by there for years but 1st time stopping. I just knew the hotdogs would be good & it was more than good. I got a chili dog w/slaw. It wasnt soggy, it was great. The lady was really nice at the drive thru. Will go inside next time. So glad I stopped!!

Love the fried fish sandwich and hush puppies. Never a complaint. Their ice cream cones are creamy and delicious and huge. Made me laugh. Wish that you were open year round.

They had great food but you had to pay attention to the prices because some things were really cheap and others were rather expensive. I don't usually like hot dogs but these were some of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Rightfully so as they claim to be the world's best hot dog. Overall, I'll probably be coming back.
